Shopping in Nainital in 2026 is still a Mall Road story with side streets. There is no new mega-mall that replaced the lake bazaar. There are more café boards and the same wool.
The market that matters
**Mall Road** (Mallital to Tallital stretch): clothes, woollens, souvenirs, pharmacies, food. This is where you will spend 90% of shopping time. Mall Road guide.

What to buy in 2026
Same as last year, on purpose: things to buy, sweets. Trends in Nainital retail are not fast.
Bargaining and hours
Shops open late morning, stay open into the evening, later in summer. Woollens: compare. Packaged sweets: less haggling. If a shawl is “pure pashmina” at a miracle price, it is not.
Practical 2026 notes
