The Nainital Guide Story
The Nainital Guide started as a guesthouse travel desk on Mall Road — the same questions, eventually turned into a local booking and planning practice.

The Nainital Guide is not a portal invented in a co-working space. It started on Mall Road, at a family-run guesthouse travel desk, answering the same questions every afternoon: which hotel actually faces the water, which driver will not invent a landslide, when the temple is unbearable, whether Kainchi Dham fits before a night train.
Why it exists
Travellers were overpaying for stays we knew were not worth it, and under-planning the hill hour from Kathgodam. The notebook became a shortlist. The shortlist became hotels we walk ourselves and routes we ride before we sell them.
What we do now
Hotel suggestions with the season in mind (heating in January, damp in August). Tour loops that do not pretend you can see seven lakes before lunch. Cab coordination. Honest answers when the answer is “don’t.” About us has the timeline. Contact if you have dates.
What we will not pretend
We are not the municipality. Boat rates change. Roads close. Snow fails to arrive. We tell you that, then we plan around it. Weather guide is the public version of those briefings.
The name
People search “The Nainital Guide” because they want a local, not another aggregator. That is still the job. The website is the desk, scaled so you can read before you call.
If you are here for a story, the story is ordinary: live in a town, get asked for help, get tired of seeing people book badly, put the help somewhere it can be found. Then keep walking the hotels.
